The S&P 500 ® is widely regarded as the best single gauge of large-cap U.S. There is over USD 9.9 trillion indexed or benchmarked to the index, with indexed assets comprising approximately USD 3.4 trillion of this total.

The, maintained by, comprises 505 issued by 500 companies and traded on American stock exchanges, and covers about 80 percent of the American equity market by capitalization. The index is weighted by free-float market capitalization, so more valuable companies account for relatively more of the index. Songs by panic at the disco.
